The Committee to Safeguard Reporters joined 20 partner organizations in a coalition statement Monday calling on Vietnamese authorities to release 2022 International Press Freedom Honor winner Pham Doan Trang , who is offering a nine-year prison sentence on anti-state fees.
The joint statement marks the fifth wedding anniversary of Trang’s apprehension, highlights the degeneration of her prison conditions, and advises authorities to guarantee her safety and security, supply accessibility to independent treatment, and enable normal video calls with her household.
